Training

Fellows in Musculoskeletal Medicine have undertaken training in techniques and procedures, pertinent to the management of musculoskeletal pain, that other specialties do not embrace in their training programs. These include, but are not limited to manual therapy and fluoroscopically guided diagnostic tests and treatments. No College provides training and assessment in the latter. These procedures are seminal discriminators of Musculoskeletal pain medicine from traditional specialties.

As evidence of its distinction, Musculoskeletal pain medicine has attracted specialists from other disciplines who have undertaken the training programs and assessments of the Faculty, implicitly because their original training did not provide them with the resources that they required in their practice, and ostensibly because the Faculty of Musculoskeletal Medicine did.
